OVERVIEW
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on the nation’s health system. Many front-line providers caring for COVID patients are exhausted or ill. Most hospitals and health systems, especially rural institutions, have been finically disadvantaged by the cancellation of elective procedures and the burdens of caring for COVOD patients. Many are furloughing employees. Many medical practices have been forced to close their doors and are a risk for financial failure. Some health plans have enjoyed short-term fiscal success because to the cancellation of elective procedures, but anticipate that these costs will hit hard as the pandemic eases. Only virtual and telehealth providers have clearly be advantaged by the pandemic.
The Summit is a first of a kind virtual event to address specifically health system strategies to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and to discuss the mid and long-term implication of the pandemic to the future of health care in America.
The Summit is supported by our Media Partners Harvard Health Policy Review and Health Affairs.
The Summit will be offer via an online platform that integrated live and recorded video with remote Zoom, WebEx and Skype broadcasts, to offer a single integrated program feed. This will be available live and in a video archive for reference following the event.
Concurrent sessions will include traditional lectures and panel discussions with written Q&A and a limited number of fully-interactive, limited-registration sessions during which all attendees will be seen and can engage in the discussion moderated by leading national experts.
This is an ambitious, first-time event organized to address one of the greatest challenges ever faced by the nation’s health system.
